We of course all go to Converse College and I love find things on women. So I searched Ecuador women artist and found many artist. The artist I founds name is Nicola' Cruz. She has a very modern way of the music and it is really ear pleasing. She mixes traditional music and fresh beats. She uses the traditional music to help with her inspiration.
We talked about many women of the blues that impacted/changed the blues. One of these women is Sister Rosetta Tharpe. She used Gospel and the electric guitar (she actually played) in her music. And was a inspiration to many famous artist such as, Elvis Presley, Johnny Cash, and Little Richard.
I love the first song, Human! I didn't know that it was classified as a blues type song! Now that I know, I feel more cultured! I also liked Sister Rosetta Tharpe! Her voice just enchanted me! As for Nicola Cruz, I plan to definitely look more into her music because I loved the song you shared with us! I love how she uses traditional songs to inspire her!

Ok Human was neat-o! He has a nice voice. The two girl singers were quite impressive as well. Especially the one with the electric guitar. She was rocking out!

I really like the video you had posted on the modern blues music. I had no idea there was blues music even now but this video proved it.
ReplyDeleteI also love the blues, especially Rhythm Blues the best. I also love Rock and Roll like Elvis Presley.
ReplyDeleteI loved that modern blues song you posted! very cool song and it sounds cool. I also wanted to find a modern blues songs and found a female artist who sang blues with a R&B twist.
ReplyDeleteI love the first song that you posted. I never knew that song human was classified as a modern blues
ReplyDeleteI really like all of these videos, Dominique. The Ecuadorean singer is really interesting--I really do like the way she's combining different elements into her texture. And Sister Rosetta Tharpe is an absolute classic--really one of the first successful female rock guitarists. (Also, we've sung that song in my church a few times--a less bee-boppy version to be sure, but it's still fun.)
